A Study On the Trait Anxiety Levels of Long-Term Hemodialysis Paitents

Abstract
|
|
|
A study on the trait anxiety levels of long-term hemodialysis patients was performed with an organized questionnaire by Spielberger Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI). 60 patients were accepted according to the research criteria at 3 general hospitals in Seoul, Soowon and.Pucheon and 92 normal control subjects were accepted from Sep. 25 to Oct. 25, 1985.
The results were as follows:
1. The long-term hemodialysis patients´ trait anxiety score was 47.45±12.07 and the control group´s was 40.82±9.47(p=.0002).
2. 15 items composing trait anxiety of patient group had significant differences and 5 items were excepted (p<. 01).
3. The higher education levels at patient group was correlated with the lower trait anxiety levels (p=.010).
4. At control group, education level (p=. 008) and monthly income (p=.036), marrital status (p=. 001) was showed significant correlations.
